Assignment-Web Quest

A Web Quest is an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all the information that learners work with comes from the web. It is also an inquiry-oriented activity in which some or all of the information that learners interact with comes from resources on the internet, optionally supplemented with videoconferencing. The model was developed by Bernie Dodge at San Diego State University in February, 1995 with early input from SDSU/Pacific Bell Fellow Tom March, the Educational Technology staff at San Diego Unified School District, and waves of participants each summer at the Teach the Teachers Consortium.
Web quest provides a big help to teachers and students in the sense that it is another type of activity that a learner could actively learned and interact. A teacher can make his/her part easier as a facilitator because everything or all the information can be found by the learners from the internet. Teachers will only plan the web quest he wants to be executed by his students and during the class hours, he will just instruct them everything they need to do. The students can make an activity meaningful because they will learn a lot of knowledge from web quest since much information should be found out in order to successfully do the assigned activity of the teachers. Students can make a good result to any lesson or activity if the information is complete and precise. Teachers can be more effective if the learners know or acquire lots of knowledge and the teaching/learning process would be valuable if students understand it well. For me web quest can be a great advantage to students that their teachers let them learn through this.
Web quest will be applicable in our country for the reason that it is a big help to improve the teaching/learning situation in every school here in the Philippines. We all know that the main objective of our education nowadays is to produce globally competitive graduates and we can only attain it if we have an education similar to other progressive countries in terms of education. We all know also that our country can now compete in terms of using new or modern educational technologies. Web quest is one appropriate type of teaching/learning style to be applied here in our country because it is a learning connected to web. Nowadays internet is very rampant not only for entertainment but for educational purposes therefore web quest can be much applicable here in our country.

My Exam

The tutorial software is more on cognitive learning theory since new knowledge are presented in a systematic way that make the human brains active. It focuses on the internal structures of memory and storage processes that make learning possible.

The tutorials software I choose has a topic verb which is very helpful for students’ learning. It is all about verbs listening tests and actions listening test worksheets. Verbs are words that express some form of action. It is also a word used to show that an action is taking place or to indicate the existence of a state or condition, or the part of speech to which such a word belongs. It can be a predicate of sentence which is a part of a clause or sentence that includes the verb, but excludes the subject of the verb. Students may able to enhance their capacity in constructing a sentence with correct verb usage.

The software gives examples that students will listen carefully the sentences with verbs, as well as read it properly in the worksheets provided. The tutorial software contains the worksheet of different verb exercises and with answer sheet of the verb used in the sentences as well. The content of the worksheets can be heard in the audio provided also. This software provides a lot of exercises to improve the knowledge of students about verbs, especially when using it in the sentence already. If all students will just care to visit this kind of software, then they will be developed more their learning capacities and maybe their intelligence quotient also.

Instructional games are usually associated with behaviorism because of the variety of reinforcement mechanisms inherent in game environments in which students are motivated by competition and game rules to strive to reach the goals. Behaviorism advocates that a learner is primarily a product of conditioning, and that the learner is controlled by factors outside of himself.

The instructional games software I choose is in spelling and grammar particularly in prefixes and suffixes. Prefix is a linguistic element that is not an independent word, but is attached to the beginning of a word to modify its meaning. Suffix a letter or group of letters added at the end of a word or word part to form another word. The instructions should be heard or listened first by the students who will play the game. The game has three boxes that contains the prefixes in the first, simple words in the center and suffixes in the third one. The students will click the boxes to match the correct prefixes and suffixes that should be attached to the simple word given. If it is a wrong answer, the students should select another prefix or suffix to come up a correct answer. It is very interesting because you will not only learn but you can feel the enjoyment when you got it right as well as become eager to continue answering or playing. If you had finished answering some praise will be read if you are a great player. This will not only enhance the learning abilities of students but will improve the behaviorism aspect also. It will make them happy even in a simple way since they are not just learning but they are enjoying as well.

A wedding that I had dreamed of was fulfilled already. Every woman deserves to be happy and loved by the man they wanted to. I had found my right guy already which made me feel complete and ideal to be a wife and a mother. We are living together with our one year old daughter Jastine Trisha who complete the essence of our family.

The painting of Joey Velasco shows similar image to the last supper painting of Leonardo Da Vinci. He painted Jesus the messiah together with His 12 disciples portrayed by the poor children. They looked very poor and tiny, as they are not so gifted of material wealth. The painting shows that children are His priorities since they are the most fragile and who needs more His presence and guidance. The painting made me realize that the real disciples of Jesus Christ are the poor children. Those who suffer poverty but still have a strong faith to God because they are the innocents who just ignored their situation and see the reality of life with God. The painting shows that God is near to the poor children as He blesses and gives mercy to them. It portrays that children are the hope of the world where God is always guiding them and letting them feel the reality of life with goodness. This is where we can imagine the life of Jesus before when He was born with the Virgin Mary as human and interacts with other people on earth. He had 12 disciples who obeys Him always and believes Him as a messiah. We can see that Jesus really loves us because He wanted us to feel His presence when He was a man. He wanted that the children will send His message to the people since they are the best messenger or disciples because the are still blind the reality and happenings of our world now a days.

In relation to education the painting wanted to portray that people should aim higher education for the future of their own children. If people are more educated enough even how hard it is, they will really strive hard for their children will not feel the hardship in life as they struggle the poverty situation. It is not bad to think positive or to think of your future using the essence of education but still you will remain to your faith to God and do your responsibility as His creation. We all know that children are the hope of our nation therefore we must educate them the words of God and let them have education at school. Education at school and church are the key to their success and betterment because I do believe that if you have a strong faith to God He will guide and bless you as well as you do the rest as your responsibility not only to God but also to the life that He gave you.

Computer technology as of today is important to our daily lives as the electronic data processing machine. Maybe as of now all the important and even unimportant things or data’s can be found already in the computer technology. One of the aspects that computers have lots of contribution is in media. It is a means of communication where computer technology is the machine use for that information, education, entertainment or business that a media can provide. In needing a media as of all information is concern I must believe that we can rely to the computer technology as the best informer and medium to be used.

Media affects the education not only to the information for research but as a whole education using media for instructions. Every school today is using media as source of learnings and experiences. There are lots of good influences that media had given to education but there are also bad aspects that affect education. It cause diversity to the intentions and perception of the youth or students especially that there are some informations from media, which is not true and bad, but they believe on it.

Technology is very powerful nowadays in terms of media because almost all the information and communication aspect is present there. Broadband is the best example of this because we don’t need to type anymore we will just directly talk to our love ones or to other people as same as we see them face to face. In terms of education, technology also is very powerful because schools nowadays are using technology for their effective teaching-learning process. Almost everything in the education aspect rely to technology like information research, instructions or teaching aspect, even exercises and exams are present and many more.

Chatting is an informal talk done in the computer connected to an Internet. We can communicate to other people through chatting. This can makes us busy, meet new friends, chat with relatives abroad, helps us to relax, improves our interpersonal skills, get advice from others and it is also cheaper. It makes us busy during our leisure time because even we are resting and relaxing we do chatting that could keeps us busy. We can even meet new friends not only here in the Philippines but maybe from other countries. People also who have relatives abroad, chatting is a type of communication that will make them feel contented since they can already see each other in the camera and have enough time to communicate with their love ones in a cheaper cost. Chatting will improve our interpersonal skills because we are not only communicating to the Filipinos but also to foreigners that could enhance our language, self-confidence and communication skill. Through chatting also we can get an advice to our problems, lifestyles and even education aspect from different people who are knowledgeable and more experienced enough.

There are many things that chatting can give and help us but if there are advantages there are also disadvantages. The disadvantage of chatting is sexual exploration especially among the youth are rampant. This is one of the reasons that cyber sex is common to our nation today even here in our region because it provides safer and faster access to pornographic materials. This kind of influence may lead the youth to a more complicated problem due to their curiosity without thinking the consequences of their actions. All we have to do is use this type of communication as well as the technology wisely for the betterment of our life and society not for pleasure that will lead to worst ideas.
